Preaching, teaching, leading, and counseling are skills you’ll gain with our pastoral ministry degree. Our desire is to equip future pastors to accurately study the Word of God so they can lead others to maturity in Christ. Learn the many roles of a pastor through our rich curriculum taught by ministry leaders and gain experience in Christian ministry through practical internships. The degree prepares you to enter directly into full-time ministry or continue on to seminary or graduate study.

This minor was designed to help UNW students prepare for law school. The curriculum includes courses from different departments and allows students to choose from a variety of courses.

The psychology program is designed for you to study the human mind, understand God’s unique creation, and serve those struggling with mental illness. This degree will lay the perfect foundation for future graduate studies.

Discover a flexible, online psychology degree that is designed for you to examine the human mind. From a Christian perspective, you will be equipped with the tools and practices to help improve others’ mental health.

The psychology minor provides you with a foundational understanding of human behavior and interpersonal interactions. You will learn about general themes of psychology, human development from conception to death, issues related to mental illness, and the basic theories underlying psychological functioning. All courses are taught from a Christ-centered perspective so you learn the core content of psychology but also evaluate the ways in which psychology fits and/or conflicts with your faith.

The minor in psychology gives students an opportunity to explore various areas and interests in the field. The coursework is clinically oriented and specific courses regarding marriage and family may be selected.

The Songwriting Minor is designed for students who wish to use their gifts in a music-related field. Nurture your creativity as a songwriter while developing analytical music skills, performing in ensembles, and using audio production technology with this 17-credit minor.

The Special Education minor provides foundational preparation for working with special populations of students labeled within the categories of EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorders) or SLD (Specific Learning Disabilities). The minor does not lead to full teacher licensure in these areas. Students completing the minor need to continue their studies on a graduate level in order to fully qualify for licensure as a special education teacher.

Hone your skills in public speaking, speech writing, and communications. The Speech Minor is designed for students gifted in public speaking and provides a solid foundation for careers such as press secretary or media relations professional.

The sport communication minor gives students a background in either video or audio news production and also in sports, with courses in media production being required and courses in health and physical education or kinesiology being electives.

The sports management major focuses on preparing students with leadership, business, and operations training within a sports industry context. Students develop management skills, industry exposure, diverse career experience, and how to apply them to professional and amateur sports settings.

The teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) minor is the perfect accompaniment to many other globally minded majors. With the TESOL minor, students can teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in grades K–12 and adult education settings around the world. Additionally, students can teach English as a second language courses for adults (non-K–12) in the United States. Many students use this minor to teach English abroad following graduation.
