Mark Diischer serves as adjunct instructor of music education and percussion at University of Northwestern – St. Paul, as well as performing as a freelance musician, arranger, composer, and conductor in the Minneapolis–St.Paul metropolitan area. He received his Master’s in Conducting from University of Nebraska Omaha and holds a majors in both Instrumental and Vocal Music Education from South Dakota State University with an Honors Distinction, focusing on advanced conducting technique and analysis.

During his Master’s studies, he served as the Director of the Maverick Horns Pep Band and as the Assistant Director of the Marching Maverick Band, comprised of over 100 music and non-music majors. He also guest conducted the UNO Wind Symphony, University Band, and the Nebraska Wind Symphony. In addition, he performed as a substitute percussionist for the Omaha Symphony during his tenure at UNO.

His previous appointments included Director of Bands at New Prague High School, MN, Director of Bands at Washington High School, Sioux Falls, SD, and 5-12 band director in Pipestone, Minnesota. In addition to these, he has taught as a guest clinician at the International Music Camp, Rushmore Music Camp, and served in multiple clinician and guest conductor roles throughout the region.
