With over two decades of experience in Elementary Education, Nikki brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as a professor at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. She teaches a variety of courses, including Elementary Science Methods, Kindergarten Methods, and Instructional Technology in Education.
Before joining the university, Nikki was a primary teacher for 20 years in the Centennial School District, where she was involved in numerous curriculum design teams and led professional learning communities. For many years, she also served as a cooperating teacher, supporting the development of aspiring educators from UNW-St. Paul. Before beginning in the Department of Teacher Education, Nikki also served as an Instructional Designer in the Online Learning Office at UNW, where she focused on enhancing virtual learning experiences for students. Nikki continues to be a Student Teaching Supervisor and has been actively involved in supporting new teachers since 2023. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Masters of Arts in Education from Hamline University.
