Prior to coming to Northwestern, Melissa Baartman Mork was employed with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Health Services providing psychotherapy and conducting neuropsychological assessments for the UMD Medical School.

Dr. Mork’s areas of specialty began in graduate school when studying patterns, processes, and bereavement. Taking a sharp turn in research, however, she became a Certified Humor Professional and specializes in the study and use of humor in various domains, including parenting, teaching, and especially grief.
