Lindsey Thompson earned her Master’s degree in Oboe Performance at the University of Minnesota in 2013, studying under John Snow, and her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Colorado in 2011 under Peter Cooper.
A strong presence in Minnesota’s chamber music scene, Lindsey has been a member of the Pavia Wind Quintet for the past 15 years. Pavia has a special interest in exploring contemporary music and showcasing individual instruments within the ensemble, while also engaging with younger musicians in chamber music education. She has also performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, Duluth-Superior Symphony, and Colorado Symphony, and has held principal oboe positions with the Joffrey Ballet, MN Sinfonia, An Opera Theater, and at the Lakes Area Music Festival. She has appeared live on Minnesota Public Radio as an artist-in-residence and continues to perform regularly as a sought-after freelancer in the Twin Cities.
In addition to her performing career and teaching at University of Northwestern – St. Paul, Lindsey has also taught at the University of Minnesota, Morris and through the Academy of Music at Northwestern, alongside maintaining a thriving private home studio.
Outside of music, Lindsey is the proud mother of four and brings the same artistry, dedication, and creativity she has for performance to her life at home.
