Eagle Care Health

Our Eagle Care Health team is dedicated to providing kind, compassionate, care to traditional undergraduate students. We offer confidential, cost-effective, convenient, medical care supporting students in life and learning.

In addition to our campus medical office, the university partners with TimelyCare to provide virtual medical care to students anywhere in the United States. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at no additional cost to students.

Care Options

On-Campus Provider

Visit with an on-campus provider who is able to meet with you in clinic per availability, Monday–Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Off Campus/Urgent Care

Receive care off campus or in the case of an urgent concern or emergency.

Options

Timely Care (Virtual)

Receive care via Timely Care, a virtual platform for student medical care. This services is on demand 24/7, 365 days and is ideal for after hours concerns. Download the app and simply sign in with your UNW login credentials.

You can also access a private room for appointments in Nazareth 3083, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This is on a first come first serve basis.

Psychiatry Services

Psychiatric services are provided through our Timely Care platform. A referral from our health provider or mental health staff is required.

At the University of Northwestern, we want to do all we can to help you successfully navigate university life, and sometimes that means helping you manage unexpected challenges resulting from illness or injury. While students have limited access to medical services through the University, maintaining health insurance beyond Eagle Care Health and TimelyCare is important. Comprehensive health insurance can help protect you from significant medical expenses and prevent unexpected healthcare costs from disrupting your educational goals.

Carrying Insurance

All students are required to maintain health insurance coverage. If you do not currently have health insurance, Northwestern offers a student health insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare. Prior to the start of the fall semester, you will receive information about enrollment in this plan.

Many students are covered under a parent or guardian’s health insurance plan while attending college. If you have existing coverage, please verify your insurance information with UnitedHealthcare when contacted to ensure your coverage is properly documented and to avoid any unnecessary charges due a potential auto-enrollment.

Please be sure to keep a copy of your health insurance card or other proof of coverage readily available. Health insurance is required for medical services received off campus and for care obtained outside of the University’s virtual healthcare platform, TimelyCare. If you are not covered under a parent or guardian’s health insurance plan, or if you are seeking coverage beyond the UnitedHealthcare Consortium plan, you may explore other health insurance options that fit your needs at healthcare.gov or mnsure.org for more resources.

Adult Undergraduate and Graduate Students

International Student Medical Insurance

All international students are auto-enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare plan unless the student has existing domestic coverage. For more information contact the Dean of Student Services at 651-631-5178.
