ST. PAUL, Minn., November 20, 2025 – UNW Theatre’s recent production of The Prince of Egypt broke records with the most tickets sold for a Northwestern theatre production. The show surpassed the 2015 production of Phantom of the Opera and the 2017 production of Mary Poppins, two plays that had previously held the record for most tickets sold.
The Prince of Egypt follows the story of Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in the kingdom of Ancient Egypt. Suddenly, they find themselves divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical featuring original songs from the DreamWorks Animation film, including Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.”
