Before coming to UNW, Shari had a 31 year teaching career in kindergarten and first grade in the Osseo School District, eighteen of those years being the Team Lead at her school. She retired from the classroom June 2025. Shari graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo with a degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Emphasis and completed her Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University.

Shari loved her teaching job and also loved mentoring new teachers. She is happy to bring her love for children and teaching to the students at the University of Northwestern as a Methods and Student Teacher Supervisor.

Shari had four grown sons, three amazing daughter-in-laws and 10 grandkids that all live in the area. She leads Bible Studies in her home and loves hosting, gardening, traveling, hiking, and having fun with her grandkids!
