Mary completed her initial degree, a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of Minnesota, before realizing she wanted to work directly with people. She then completed an entry-level Master of Science in Nursing from St. Catherine University and fell in love with nursing’s power to transform lives with the love of Jesus.

She has since completed an additional Master of Science in Complementary and Integrative Health from Drexel University, and has recently begun a Ph.D. in Nursing at the University of Missouri. She hopes to study methods of whole-person stress and coping support for nursing students and new nurses.

Mary has been excited by nursing’s potential to help others since her first day of nursing school. She is overjoyed to share this potential with others and create opportunities for students to transform lives as well.

When she is not studying or teaching, Mary enjoys spending time with her church community, hikes in the woods with her rescue mutt, reading good books, and knitting too many projects.
