Professor Creighton Long joins the University of Northwestern after more than 35 years of leadership experience spanning healthcare, finance, operations and strategy. He served in executive and general management roles with organizations including Elevance Health, Change Healthcare, and DJO Global, among others.
Most recently Creighton served as Staff Vice President leading Aligned Incentive Solutions at Elevance Health, where he led a growing business focused on helping align incentives to improve healthcare and claim payment outcomes. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed helping organizations grow, improve operations and develop talented teams.
Creighton previously taught business finance and economics as an adjunct professor at Bethel University and has long aspired to devote the latter stage of his career to teaching and mentoring future business leaders, helping students prepare for the real-world business environment, integrate sound business practices with Christian faith and lead through a spirit of service.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bethel University, with a minor in Biblical Studies and an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business. Creighton and his wife enjoy spending time with their family, and he especially enjoys running and encouraging others in their personal and professional journeys. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve students and be part of the University of Northwestern community.
