Application Process

The Classical Christian Honors College requires a separate application in addition to your University of Northwestern application. The two applications may be done concurrently. Applications are open until August 1, 2027  for admission into the Honors College for the fall of 2027.

The Honors College is a rigorous and rewarding program. While our honors students typically demonstrate exceptional academic achievement (average unweighted high school GPA of 3.84, an ACT score of 27, or an SAT score of 1280), we prioritize applications who share our values and will contribute to our close-knit, humble, truth-seeking community.

Start Your Application Process

1. Apply to the University of Northwestern – St. Paul
   • Begin your application to UNW.
   • You may submit your CCHC application while your UNW application is in process.
2. Submit your Classical Christian Honors College Application
   • Provide contact information for two academic references:
     1. These should be from high school instructors (non-relatives) who can speak to your academic capabilities, character, and readiness.
     2. Each reference will receive a request to submit a reference form on your behalf.
   • Respond to three short essay questions (400–700 words):
   1. Essay Questions:
      1. Can you describe a time when you had to think critically about a complex issue or problem? How did you approach the issue, and what was the outcome?
      2. Why do you want to be part of the Classical Christian Honors College?
      3. What experiences have shaped your sense of purpose, and how do you want to make a positive impact in the world?
3. Complete a CCHC Interview
   • Outstanding applicants will be invited to an in-person interview with the Dean as well as another member of our team. Students who are unable to travel to campus for an in-person interview may request a virtual interview.
