2022 | Corbin M. Hoornbeek began his tenure as Northwestern’s ninth president in August. UNW’s Engineering program received ABET accreditation, retroactive to 2017. Northwestern joined the Minnesota Private College Council as its 18th member institution. Nazareth Hall’s 100th year of existence is celebrated, as is Northwestern’s 50 years of being on the current suburban St. Paul campus. Northwestern’s volleyball team advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four.
2023 | UNW successfully concluded its HLC four-year assurance review, meeting all Criteria for Accreditation with no monitoring or additional reporting required. Over 19,000 attendees experienced Northwestern Fine Arts events in 2022-2023. KTIS-FM is recognized by Nielsen Audio Ratings as the top station in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market for both April and May. With the acquisition of Spirit FM in Camdenton, Mo., Northwestern Media’s reach includes 104 outlets across 11 states.
2024 | Northwestern’s seven-year strategic vision is determined, based on focused community input, market research and analyzing the growing demands for academic competencies and listener engagement in the marketplace. As a result, we committed to a national expansion for Northwestern Media, developing a School of Media Arts, expanding our program offerings to include a Classical Christian Honor College, and a strong Biomedical Technology focus for the university. The student experience continues to be enhanced to further develop the whole student—body, mind, and spirit, and our commitment to amplify the gospel remains our mission in homes, churches, communities, and world. We see it as our responsibility and privilege to equip Christian leaders for lives of purpose, service, and civic engagement through the transforming power and platform of Christian higher education and Christian media.
