Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Begin the financial Aid process each year by going to FAFSA.gov and completing your FAFSA application to calculate your financial need for college. The FAFSA is the application used to applying for federal and state financial aid.
How to Submit Forms
Send completed forms to - UNW GCE Financial Aid, using one of these options:
- Mail - 3003 Snelling Ave. N, St. Paul, MN 55113
- Email as attachment to - email@example.com
- Fax - 651-628-3369.
If your FAFSA is slected for verification by the Department of Education you will need to complete a Verification Worksheet. Please complete, sign, and return the worksheet promptly. Your financial aid award cannot be determined until the verification worksheet and all requirements are received and processed.
Complete only 1 of the 5 (V1-V5) worksheets below. To avoid delays, submit the correct worksheet requested of you. You can find your Verification Worksheet number by logging on to theROCK, selecting the Finances tab, and viewing your Financial Aid Requirements.

Parent & Student Appeal Forms
The Department of Education gives us limited authority to make adjustments to a student's eligibility when circumstances arise that are out of the control of the parent/student. If a parent/student feels that they have an appealable situation, this form should be completed and returned to the Financial Aid Office.

Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Application
Parents of dependent students may borrow up to the cost of education less other financial aid for their child. For detailed information view Loans.
To Apply for a Parent PLUS Loan
- Parents, log in to studentloans.gov with your PIN, select “Request Direct PLUS Loan”, and select "Parent PLUS"
- Complete the 4 step process. Your completed PLUS application is submitted electronically to our Financial Aid Office.
- If this is the first Parent PLUS Loan for this student, you must sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) at studentloans.gov.
- Parents who think they won't qualify for the Parent PLUS loan should contact the Financial Aid office for other options.
For parents without online access, download the PLUS Loan Application form below. Submit the completed form to the University of Northwestern's Financial Aid Office. Information supplied on the form will be electronically transmitted to the U.S. Department of Education, its servicers, and/or agents. The applicant’s credit history will be reviewed to determine eligibility.
