Sachiya Isomura, a native of Japan, has studied at the Toho Conservatory in Tokyo and the Juilliard School of Music in New York. He taught at the Bowling Green State University in Ohio for two years. He later joined the Minnesota Orchestra in 1979, following one year with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Yamato Calvary Chapel in St. Paul and also serves as a church musician for the Rosehill Alliance Church in Roseville. He has been a cello instructor at University of Northwestern since 2000.
