Originally from Colorado, oboist Lindsey Thompson earned her Masters in Oboe Performance at the University of Minnesota in May 2013, studying with John Snow.  During her time there, Lindsey was on a full scholarship and played principal and second oboe in the University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.  Lindsey is the oboist of the Pavia Wind Quintet, Principal Oboe of the Minnesota Sinfonia, has appeared live on MPR with Minnesota Varsity as an artist in residence, and continues to freelance in the Twin Cities.  Lindsey is a regular sub with the Minnesota Orchestra, has subbed with the Duluth Superior Symphony, played in the Lakes Area Music Festival and with the Joffery Ballet.  Lindsey teaches oboe through Northwestern College's Academy of Music, and also maintains a private studio in the Twin Cities.


Lindsey received her Bachelor of Music Degree Summa Cum Laude at the University of Colorado in May 2011.  During her time there, she studied with Peter Cooper and played in the University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, rotating principal and second oboist.  She has also subbed as second oboe with the Colorado Symphony.
