Christmas at Northwestern
University of Northwestern – St. Paul has a rich heritage of music performance through the years. In 1982, at the completion of Totino Fine Arts Center, Christmas concerts moved from the gym in Riley over to Maranatha Hall – and the tradition became known as “Christmas at Northwestern”! All of Northwestern’s major ensembles perform in this concert of worship, including the Northwestern Choir (previously College Choir), Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Women’s Chorale and Varsity Men’s Chorus. The “Festival Choir,” including all three choral groups, performs with both the Orchestra and Symphonic Band.
Christmas at Northwestern, a decades old traditional concert of worship presented by the University of Northwestern – St. Paul Department of Music, features the talents of over 300 student musicians in the Northwestern Choir, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Women's Chorale and Men's Chorus. The theme for 2013 is “Hope of the World” and the program includes a wide variety of music, with a message of hope and the peace of Christ as the Christmas season approaches. The program is presented on December 6, 7 and 8 in Maranatha Hall (Totino Fine Arts Center). Tickets are available at unwtickets.com or 651-631-5151.
