Who We Serve
Health Services provides on-site health care for UNW students seeking a traditional undergraduate degree. We are staffed daily with a Physician Assistant and a Registered Nurse. A Physician is present weekly. All staff follows federal and state privacy laws that keep your medical information confidential. Information is not released without your signed permission.
Types of Services
Physician Assistant Appointments
A physician assistant is available by appointment Monday–Friday. A physician assistant is a provider who can write prescriptions, order lab or x-ray, or guide you to the right medical specialty. Please call the front desk at 651-631-5246 to schedule an appointment or to ask about availability.
A physician is available by appointment every Monday, whenever classes are in session, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Registered Nurse Visits
A registered nurse is available Monday–Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary. We operate on a walk-in, first-come, first served basis, unless a more urgent medical need requires priority.
In the event that your student should need medical care at a time that Northwestern Health Services are not open, there are many pharmacies, urgent care facilities and hospitals nearby.
Hours and Contact Information
Monday–Friday: 8:30 a.m.– 4 p.m. Availability follows the academic calendar.
UNW Health Services is funded by a Health Services fee that all traditional undergraduate students pay. The Health Services staff works hard to provide you with quality health care without any additional cost or fees.
There are some medical tests, immunizations and prescription medications that are offered at an additional cost. These charges are billed to the student’s account. Costs are subject to change.
Students are responsible for all off-campus laboratory testing, x-rays or scans, and any care at an off-campus medical facility.
Please contact Health Services for cost of certain tests, immunizations and or prescriptions medications.
