Intern Stories

Internships have played an integral part in the lives of UNW students and alumni.

Erin - Youth and Family Studies

Major: Youth and Family Studies
Internship Site: Grace Church Roseville
Erin's Experience: "The variety of experience I had in this internship was wonderful and gave me a broader idea of what the overall picture of ministry may look like for me in the future. I felt like my ideas were heard, but I had a significant amount of direction given to me as well so that I could learn the ins and outs of this field."

Adam - Electronic Media Communications

Internship Site: WIXN AM 1460/WSEY 95.7/WRCV 101.7
Adam's Experience: "They didn't waste time training me, introducing me to others, etc. I was expected to be able to perform to my fullest immediately and meet people along the way. I was able to do both quite well. That's what I appreciated the most about this internship - the professionalism of everything, from the people to the way the station was run."

Abby - General Music

Internship Site: International Music Camp
Abby's Experience: "Internships cannot teach you anything if you sit back and expect to be taught. Students have to be willing to learn from them...I would just encourage future interns to make it a priority to learn during their internship."
