Since its founding in 1902 in Minneapolis, Northwestern’s educational mission has always had a global view. Our first graduate, Anna Gooch, went abroad as a missionary to Burma.
The mission and vision of University of Northwestern and Northwestern Media are global in scope—to reach all nations, the world, for Christ. Through distance education, Northwestern can reach students hungry for a Christ-centered education. Our radio stations stream online to all parts of the world.
In 2001, Northwestern established its first degree site, the University of Northwestern Christian Center for Communications in Quito, Ecuador.
